The Men’s Section is open to all male golfers and main competition days are Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays with individual, pairs and team competitions held throughout the year. There are separate entry fees for all competitions with prizes on offer. The Men’s Section is split in to four sub groups dependent upon age and golfing ability which gives everybody more opportunity to play and improve their golf at all levels – full details are on the noticeboards in the Men’s locker room.
Open to golfers with handicaps below 18 who enjoy a more competitive game of golf. Whitby GC is affiliated to the Scarborough & District Golf Association and plays competitive matches during the winter months (September – March) against Bridlington, Driffield, Filey, Flamborough Head, Kirkbymoorside, Malton & Norton, Scarborough North Cliff, Scarborough South Cliff. The Foxes (Intermediates)
Open to golfers with handicaps of 8 to 15, and an ideal group with which to play golf and enjoy a more social golfing experience. Whitby GC is affiliated to NERGA and play matches during the summer months May to September, visiting 8 clubs in the North East Area. This is a great opportunity to play on other courses and meet new golfing friends. In 2015 the club enjoyed great success coming runner up to Crook GC in the final played at Rockcliffe Hall. Open to golfers with handicaps of 16 to 28, and an ideal group with which to play golf and enjoy a more social golfing experience. Whitby GC is affiliated to the Flamborough & District Rabbit Golf Association & Alliance along with Bridlington, Filey, Flamborough, Bridlington Links, Kirkbymoorside, Malton & Norton, Scarborough North and South Cliff & Driffield. Over the winter formal Alliance and Trophy matches are played at all the above clubs. Open to golfers aged 55 and over and there is no handicap limit. Competition days are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8am throughout the year with individual and team competitions on offer. The section plays a number of matches with local clubs in the Yorkshire Coast and Teesside areas which give an opportunity to play golf on a variety of courses. There is an annual fee of £25 to be a member of the section and this covers all competition entry fees.
